A European League

Today Gordon Strachan reckoned that in years to come there will only be an appetite for a European Leauge naturally iuncluding the likes of Celtic and Rangers.

He was saying what everyone thinks anyway. Big business will and already is taking over football and with the build of bigger stadiums and the deep pockets of TV companies and sponsors - they are going to lose interest on Man Utd playing Wigan etc.

But Man Utd playing Barcelona and Liverpool playing Inter Milan and Arsenal playing anybody - now that means a global audience to include the biggest growth audience - the Far East.

In fact lets be blunt - what would you rather watch England v Croatia Wales v Estonia Scotland v Faroe Islands and Ireland playing Andorra -no you would want to watch Celtic v Man Utd Tottenham v Glasgow Rangers and Lazio v Chelsea.

The old debate of Club v Coutry is now obsolete - its the clubs every time - especially on a giant European stage.
