The UK National Championships will take place on 6-7 September at Richardson Evans Memorial Playing Fields, Wimbeldon Common, London SW15 3PQ.

Teams from around the UK will converge on the Wimbledon sports fields aiming to take the national title. The top four teams in both Open (Men) and Women events will also qualify for the European Ultimate Club Finals to be held in Paris in early November.

The current Open champions Clapham went on to take the European title in 2007 but lost some key personnel at the recent World Championships in Vancouver and may find things tougher going in 2008. Local rivals Fire of London, and the current top ranked UK team Chevron Action Flash (Manchester) are planning that this will be their year! Edinburgh-based Fusion will also have their eyes on the prize.

In the Women's division Iceni (London) will be strong favourites. However Leeds have a habit of making sure the London team don't always get things their own way - and no doubt that is their plan this time as well. Of course thats assuming that Bristol don't mess things up for one or other of the top two teams!

The tournament will start at around 9:30 on Saturday morning and pool play will continue through until approximately 6pm. Knockout games will probably start on Sunday - with the first games kicking off at approx 9am.

The finals are expected to be at around 3:30pm on Sunday - but times are not fixed yet. Details will be updated here when the schedule of games is finalised.

Entrance is free for spectators - food and drinks will be on sale at the venue - and the hundreds of ultimate players will be only too happy to explain the game in more detail and tell you all about what is going on.
