| Comments: | The health and safety police would have a field day in Nepal! Try telling these guys to always wear stout footwear and never wear jeans in mountains. On a serious note some porters do suffer on treks, you have to keep an eye on them. The sherpas tend to have better gear, but it isn't always clean because they don't have as many changes of clothing as westerners. The guy on the left wasn't with us, he was a local guy doing his regular trip over the pass to earn a living. This trail is effectively a Himalayan motorway, with goods being carried back and forth continously. Comment by johnloguk on 6th July 2007 |

I notice the sherpas aren't wearing quite the same amount of clothes as you guys!
